Your data, your choice

Privacy Policy

Tabrevo is a Chrome extension for saving and revisiting web pages. It works locally without an account. Features that use another service—account sync, AI, Google Drive backup, and Google Calendar—are optional and are described below.

Data kept in your browser

Tabrevo stores pages you choose to save, including their URLs, titles, website icons, notes, tags, collections, reminder times, status, and activity dates. If you use offline reading, it also stores a copy of the selected article and your reading progress. Settings and optional account session information are stored locally. Saved pages and notes may contain personal information you choose to add.

Tabrevo does not request Chrome's browsing-history or cookie permissions and does not continuously record every site you visit. Saved page information remains in your Chrome profile unless you enable an optional feature that sends it elsewhere.

Optional account sync

If you select Continue with Google, Tabrevo receives your Google account name and email address. A Google sign-in credential is sent to the Tabrevo sync service at sync.tabrevo.duckdns.org to verify your account. Tabrevo keeps its account session tokens locally. The sync service briefly uses your IP address to limit sign-in attempts.

While signed in, saved records and their changes—including URLs, titles, notes, tags, collections, and reminders—are sent securely to the Tabrevo service and stored there to synchronize your devices. Sync data is not end-to-end encrypted; the service can process its contents. Signing out stops sync on that device but does not delete previously synced records from the server or sign out your other devices.

Optional AI features

AI does not run automatically on all browsing. If you connect an AI provider, accept its data-handling notice, and request a summary or answer, Tabrevo reads the page you selected and sends relevant page text, your question, and necessary conversation context to your chosen provider: Google Gemini, Groq, Cerebras, or OpenRouter. OpenRouter may route a request to another model provider. A selected page or conversation can contain personal or sensitive information, so avoid using AI on content you do not want to share. Provider terms and retention practices apply.

Your AI API key is held in Chrome session storage for the browser session and sent to the chosen provider for authentication. It is not included in Tabrevo backups. Disconnecting AI removes the key from extension session storage. AI-generated answers can be inaccurate.

Optional Google integrations

  • Google Drive backup: If you enable backup, Tabrevo uploads saved data and selected preferences to your Google Drive app-data folder. This can include offline article copies and pending sync changes. API keys and OAuth tokens are excluded. Existing Drive backups remain until you remove them through Google Drive's connected-app settings.
  • Google Calendar: If you choose to create a Calendar event, Tabrevo sends the saved page title, URL, description, and event time to your primary Google Calendar. Changing or deleting a local reminder does not automatically change the Calendar event.

Google handles data it receives under Google's Privacy Policy. Tabrevo's use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Reminders and website access

Local reminders can show a saved page title and domain in a Chrome notification, including on your lock screen if your system allows it. If you enable an in-page reminder banner, Tabrevo asks for access to that website and displays saved page details on the page you are viewing. It does not need access to every website to show ordinary Chrome notifications.

Reading an article offline or summarizing a selected page may also require access to that website. You can review or revoke site access in Chrome's extension settings.

Use, sharing, and retention

Tabrevo uses data to provide its saved-page, reminder, sync, backup, Calendar, and user-requested AI features. Data is shared with the Tabrevo sync service, Google services, or the AI provider you choose only as needed for those features. It is not sold, used for personalized advertising, or used to determine creditworthiness or make lending decisions. We do not use or transfer data for purposes unrelated to Tabrevo's stated functions.

Local data remains until you delete it or remove the extension, subject to browser storage limits. Uninstalling the extension does not delete records already held by the Tabrevo sync service, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or an AI provider. Third-party retention is governed by each provider's policy. You can stop future sync, backup, or AI requests by disconnecting those features. To request deletion of server-held account data, contact the developer using the link below; do not post private data in a public issue.

Contact and changes

For privacy questions or account-data deletion requests, contact the Tabrevo developer through GitHub Issues. Please do not include API keys, tokens, private page text, or other sensitive information in a public report.

Tabrevo is not directed to children under 13. We will update the date above when this policy changes.
